  Indian Railways to introduce a new scheme in Tatkal ticket
New Delhi, February 5, 2010: Indian Railways decided to introduce a new scheme in Tatkal ticket process. From Feburay 11, 2011 a new scheme is going to be introduced in the Tatkal ticket process. From Friday, Feb 11, passengers have to produce an identity proof for tickets booked under Tatkal Scheme.
* Voter Photo Identity Card issued by Election Commission of India 
* Passport
* PAN Card issued by Income Tax Department
* Driving license issued by RTO
* Photo Identity Card issued by Central/State Government
* Student identity card with photograph issued by recognized
School/College for their students
* Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph
* Credit Cards issued by Banks with laminated photograph. 
  A passenger or anyone of a group of passengers would be required to produce one of the eight listed proofs in original during the journey for checking by Railway staff, failing which, all the passengers traveling on the said ticket would be treated as ‘without tickets' and penalized.
